Protecting Your Space While Staying Connected
ALRIGHT, WITCHES. LET'S TALK ABOUT PROTECTING YOUR SPACE...
With everything feeling so damn chaotic lately, I think it's time for a little reminder about grounding, cleansing, and protecting our personal spaces. And before anyone starts panicking and ordering enough Black Tourmaline to build a second house, I'm not saying something terrible is lurking around every corner. I'm saying there's a whole lot of stress, anger, and uncertainty floating around, and we need to be a little more intentional about what we're allowing into our lives.
Start with your home. Clean the damn house, open some windows, sweep out the stagnant energy, and reinforce your wards if that's part of your practice. Work with Black Tourmaline, Smoky Quartz, Obsidian, or whatever protective stones you personally connect with. Take a cleansing bath, light a candle, spend some time grounding, and give yourself permission to step away from the never ending circus happening on social media.
And while we're talking about protection, can we PLEASE stop confusing protecting our energy with cutting ourselves off from everyone? Not every person who disagrees with you is toxic, not every uncomfortable conversation is an energetic attack, and sometimes people are just having a shitty day.
We can have boundaries without becoming completely disconnected from the world around us.
Actually, I think connecting with our communities is one of the most important things we can be doing right now. Check on your friends, support your local businesses, spend time outside, and surround yourself with people who genuinely care about one another. Having a strong support system is pretty damn valuable when life decides to start throwing things at us.
So yes, cleanse your spaces, reinforce your protections, and pay attention to your intuition. But don't get so wrapped up in protecting yourself from the world that you forget there are still some pretty wonderful people in it.
And for the love of Hecate, put your phone down occasionally. Facebook and other socials will still be a dumpster fire when you get back...
~ Blessings,
Jenny
