There is something undeniably fascinating about the old séance rooms...
Think... a dimly lit room with people waiting to communicate with the other side... the lights are dim, the candle flickers, the dead are waiting to speak...
When we decided to create THE SÉANCE for Samhain, we did not want another generic spirit communication box.
We wanted the actual instruments...
And holy shit, some of them were not easy to find.
We spent months hunting down pieces that could bring the feeling of an old séance table to life and used our knowledge to complete this set.
The result is easily one of the coolest and most unique Samhain kits EVER!
THE INSTRUMENTS
At the center is a large Talking Board with matching planchette, surrounded by tools inspired by those used during traditional Spiritualist sittings.
But the piece I am super excited about is the Spirit Trumpet....
Spirit trumpets appeared in Spiritualist séances as cone shaped instruments believed by practitioners to amplify or direct purported spirit voices and sounds. Finding something that actually captured the look and function we wanted without resorting to a cheap plastic prop was much harder than expected... BUT we finally found them!
Each collection contains a polished stainless steel Spirit Trumpet, and it is such a strange, beautiful piece of séance history to be able to include. This is the kind of object that makes people ask, What the hell is THAT? when they see your altar.
You will also receive a pair of Spirit Slates with chalk markers, a Spirit Bell, a dark green and antique gold Séance Cloth, automatic writing materials and a black flameless séance light.
These are not decorations pretending to be séance tools.
They are meant to be brought to the table and experimented with.

Because there was absolutely no way we were making a séance collection and NOT making Ectoplasm.

RECORD YOUR SITTINGS
Every collection includes our Hand Made Record of Sittings, along with a complete Witchy Wares guide to conducting your séance.
You can document the date, sitters, methods used, names, messages, sounds, movement, impressions and anything else that happens around your table.
Over time, it becomes your own personal archive of sittings and gives you a way to look back for repeating names, symbols, phrases or patterns.
Our guide walks you through preparing the table, formally opening your sitting, working with the talking board, spirit trumpet, slates, bell and automatic writing, using the ritual goods and properly closing your séance when you are finished.
