Youngite is the name given to the variety of druzy quartz coated, brecciated jasper that is only found in one specific location, in the natural caves and veins in the Mississippian limestone near Guernsey in Platte County, Eastern Wyoming, USA. The most notable locale that produced some excellent specimens is the Hartville Uplift. Although specimens are still available from time to time the mining locations are now closed.
 
Metaphysically, Youngite is an extraordinary stone for putting yourself back together after life has knocked everything sideways. Its physical structure gives us an almost perfect symbol for this kind of work. The original material was fractured, but those fractures later became pathways for silica rich solutions. What was broken was not simply returned to its previous state. New mineral material entered the spaces and bound the fragments into something entirely different. That makes Youngite particularly powerful for recovery, resilience, integration, and rebuilding.
