Full Hunter's Moon & Samhain Healing Spellwork
Tonight is the Full Hunter's Moon, and with Samhain coming up this Saturday, October 31st, I have decided to do something a little different with this month's spellwork...
I don't know about the rest of you, but lately the energy has felt incredibly heavy. I've had so many people reaching out who are sick, dealing with health issues, completely exhausted, or just having a really difficult time physically and emotionally. It seems like everywhere I turn, someone is struggling with something, and honestly, I think we could all use a little extra healing and protection right now.
The Hunter's Moon has traditionally been associated with preparation, protection, and gathering what was needed to survive the coming winter months. For our ancestors, this was an important time of year because the colder months were approaching and making sure their families were healthy, protected, and provided for was a matter of survival. There is something about that symbolism that feels particularly appropriate right now.
And then we have Samhain coming up, which, as most of you know, is one of my favorite Sabbats!
Samhain marks the end of the harvest season and the beginning of the darker half of the year. It is a time when we honor our ancestors, remember those who have passed, and acknowledge the cycles of life, death, and rebirth. Many of us also believe that the veil between the living and the spirit world is at its thinnest during this time, making it especially meaningful for ancestral workings, honoring our beloved dead, and seeking guidance and protection.
With the Hunter's Moon and Samhain so close together, I really want to focus on the importance of taking care of ourselves and each other. We spend so much time worrying about everyone else, trying to keep everything together, and pushing ourselves to get through whatever life throws at us that sometimes we forget we need a little care ourselves.
And I'm just as guilty of that as anyone else...
So rather than focusing heavily on manifestation, abundance, or attracting new opportunities this month, my main focus is going to be HEALING.
For tonight's working, I will be concentrating on:
- Physical Healing and Recovery: Sending healing intentions, comfort, and strength to those dealing with illness, ongoing health concerns, or recovering from difficult physical situations.
- Emotional and Mental Healing: Helping ease some of the emotional heaviness, stress, grief, and exhaustion that so many people seem to be carrying lately.
- Protection: Strengthening spiritual protection around ourselves, our families, and our homes as we move into the darker months of the year.
- Restoring Energy and Strength: Focusing on those who have been feeling completely drained, overwhelmed, or simply don't have much left to give.
- Ancestral Guidance and Blessings: With Samhain approaching, I will also be honoring our beloved ancestors and asking for their wisdom, comfort, and protection for those who wish to receive it.
- Releasing Negativity and Stagnant Energy: Clearing away some of the emotional and energetic baggage that has been weighing us down so we can move forward feeling a little lighter.
I also want to touch on something because I think it's important, especially with so many people being sick right now...
Not everything we're experiencing is necessarily spiritual. Sometimes we're just physically exhausted, our bodies are fighting something off, or life has been kicking our asses a little harder than usual. Not every bad day means someone has thrown something at you, and not every illness is caused by negative energy. As witches, I think it's important to recognize the difference and remember that spiritual healing is meant to work alongside taking care of ourselves physically, including getting medical attention when we need it.
I love my witchcraft, but I'm certainly not going to tell someone to grab a crystal and ignore a 103 degree fever...
With Samhain approaching, I'll also be incorporating ancestral honoring into this working. I believe there is something incredibly comforting about remembering those who came before us, especially during difficult times. Whether that's a grandparent who always knew how to make everything better, someone who helped raise us, or a loved one whose presence we still miss terribly, this is a beautiful time to remember them and the love they brought into our lives.
And for those who don't have positive relationships with their blood ancestors, please know that ancestral work doesn't have to mean honoring people who caused you harm. We can choose to honor the beloved dead, spiritual ancestors, and those who genuinely contributed something good to our lives.
This working is really about bringing some comfort, peace, healing, and protection to those who need it. I know spellwork isn't going to magically erase every illness or solve every problem overnight, but I do believe there is value in coming together with a common intention and putting some love and positive energy toward people who are having a difficult time...
And quite frankly, with everything going on lately, I think we could use a little more of that...
If you want to send a donation (it can be $1, it can be $100...as a working Witch, to fully tap in to you there should be an exchange of some sort...) and have me add you personally to this spellwork please send to:
Cashap:
Venmo:
Please don't write anything in the notes when you send your payment for your spot.
If you have specific intentions you would like included, especially for yourself or someone you love who is dealing with illness or going through a difficult time, please message me or comment below. You don't need to share personal medical details, and if you're requesting healing for someone else, please respect their privacy.
As always, a donation is absolutely NOT required to be included in this working, but it is always appreciated!
And one last thing, loves... If you've been feeling completely worn down lately, please give yourself permission to slow down a little. You don't have to be productive every waking moment, you don't have to fix everyone's problems, and you certainly don't have to pretend you're fine when you're not.
Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is take a hot bath, get some sleep, eat something decent, and tell the rest of the world to fuck off for a few hours.
Even witches need a little healing sometimes...
~ Blessings,
Jennifer
