You do not need to work with a deity to practice witchcraft. You are not behind if nothing has reached out to you. You are not missing anything if you haven’t felt a pull. At this stage, you shouldn’t be trying to force a connection anyway.

Because once you move into actual deity work, you are stepping into something that involves relationship, consistency, and respect. Not curiosity for five minutes and then moving on when it doesn’t feel exciting enough.
A deity is a spiritual force or being that has been recognized and worked with over long periods of time, often within specific cultures and traditions. They are not just ideas or aesthetics. They are tied to history, to people, to systems that existed long before you came across them.
Some are connected to nature, some to concepts like war, love, death, knowledge, or protection. Some are deeply cultural and not something you casually decide to work with because you like how it looks or sounds.
