This is one of those topics that gets thrown around constantly, especially right now. Everybody is an “empath.” Everybody feels everything. Everybody is overwhelmed. And while yes, we are absolutely in what I like to call an age of spiritual awakening, where more people are exploring their minds, their beliefs, and their awareness than ever before, there is also a lot of confusion mixed into that.
I have walked my path my entire life. I have studied, practiced, learned, and I am still learning. And even though there is still judgment, there are far more people open to these conversations now than there were even a few years ago. Which is a good thing. But it also means information spreads fast, and not all of it is fully understood.
So let’s clear something up in a way that actually makes sense and is useful to your practice.
Empathy and being an empath are not the same thing.
They overlap, yes. But they are not interchangeable, and confusing the two is where a lot of people get lost.
